SaintOla is a fashion brand by Jumoke Thomas.
Jumoke commissioned me a collection of fashion prints for SaintOla Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
The idea behind her collection was to create fresh looks with a hint of Africa, as Jumoke is from Nigeria.
This was such a thrilling and challenging project for me because it was the first time I had the chance to approach to the world of fashion and to see my designs on fabric.
I designed three different prints following Jumoke’s moodboard and the color scheme she picked. The result is a very cohesive collection made of geometric prints.
The pieces of Jumoke’s collection make me think of long journeys to exotic places. The colors she chose also make me think of summer in Africa, so I think we both did a good job in reaching her vision.
The fun part was to try and imagine what would look best on specific garments and fabrics, and how to find a perfect balance between colors and shapes.
At the end of the whole project, my favorite piece is the blazer and shorts outfit. It matches all the requirements I was given and it’s a perfect summer piece.
Designing these fashion prints for SaintOla was a fun experiment for me and I hope I will be able to work on similar projects again soon!
SaintOla collection is now available to purchase online on Etsy.
