About This Project

When I caught Covid in 2021, as it probably happened to many of us, I was stuck inside for a couple weeks.
Luckily my heavy syntoms were gone after a few days and I thought I could use that isolation time to experiment with new techniques and learn something new.

This is a short story of how I got into marbling. After a little investigation, I know my artworks were far from traditional but still I liked the result; I think this is the beauty of marbling, even mistakes can be pretty.

Gewichtloos (without weight in Dutch) is the debut album of Dutch singer songwriter Bonfoi. It is an introspective singer-songwriter album with dreamy atmospheres, where different styles combine together and carry the listener on a journey made of poetic lyrics and intricate melodies.

I thought that his combination could be perfectly represented by one of my marbling pieces, since it represented an harmonic fusion of weightless inks that are not able to melt in water.

This is how the idea for the cover was born. The color combination is strong and eye-catching and the lettering work is simple and not invasive, in order to let room for the artwork.

You can now listen to Gewichloos here.
